Please confirm that lactic acid--a safe replacement for boric acid in metal working fluids.

Yes. Lactic as well as other organic acids will replace Boric acid for corrosion protection though boric gives some biocidal effect that other acids do not. Tall oils will work Ok and other di and mono acids too. Bruce

I have found that blends of acids offer the best in corrision protection.
Some also offer good Anti wear or EP effect with synergy to other acids and amines.
