Dr. Frederick Passman has received the ASTM International Award of Merit from Committee E34 on Occupational Health and Safety. The Award of Merit is ASTM’s highest organizational recognition for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM technical committee activities. He has been chairman of Subcommittee E34.50 on Health and Safety Standards for Metal Working Fluids since 2006, and has been instrumental in developing more than 50 standards on microbiology as applied to real world issues, including the health and safety of workers in the metal trades. Dr. Passman is an STLE Fellow and Certified Metalworking Fluids Specialist with 35 years’ experience in environmental-industrial microbiology. More importantly - He is simply a really decent guy who is always willing to help anybody, and he is probably the best of the best of the STLE MWF instructors you will ever get to listen to. Team MWFMAG congratulates Dr. Fred for this award and thank him for his many contributions to the Metalworking Fluid Industry.
