(From Environmental Expert.com)  Ed Chambers, President of EC2, has devoted his career to helping prevent needless exposure to hazardous microbial contaminants and pathogens. EC2 has performed thousands of environmental and indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations in everything from residential to industrial environments.

“People working with metalworking fluids, or in close proximity, can be exposed by breathing contaminated aerosols generated in the machining process,” stated Mr. Chambers. “Exposure can also result from skin contact with parts, tools, and equipment covered with the fluids. There are a number of different types of bacteria and fungi, not to mention their biological byproducts that are commonly found in MWFs if they have not been properly maintained or changed frequently enough. At EC2, our professionals can test MWFs for microbial contamination and related microbial toxins such as endotoxins and mycotoxins. Air testing can also determine if workers could be breathing air that has high levels of these materials.”

EC2 has sponsored an educational video about metalworking fluids and microbial health hazards that can be viewed at: [MWFMAG]
