Metalworking Fluid Filtration: Hydrocyclones
FILTRATION MONTH would not be complete without discussion of the Hydrocyclone, whose power through Nature is well-known. Hydrocyclones are used to separate solids from Metalworking Fluids using centrifugal force. No disposable filter media is required in the cyclonic separation process making hydrocyclones economical, efficient and environmentally responsible.
CYCLOTRON are available in two sizes: Large, full ceramic cone has capacity of 20 gallons per minute and can be manifolded together to achieve up to 240 GPM. Separation of 7 to 10 microns in steel at approximately 95% efficiency can be achieved.
Small, plastic cone with either ceramic or plastic lower nozzle has capacity of 5 gallons per minute and also can be manifolded together to provide higher GPM capacity. Separation of 5 microns in steel at approximately 95% efficiency can be achieved
