Honing/Lapping Oil Filtration

Traditional honing and lapping operations have taken on a new dimension of accuracy and precision. In double wheel lapping, the abrasive wheels far exceed the 0.0002- to 0.0003-inch tolerances of conventional grinders, and it takes that 0.025 inch of carbide stock off both sides simultaneously within 4 to 5 minutes. It means a highly efficient filtration system is required to keep dissolved solids out of the system. To achieve such results, temperature controlled coolant utilizing TRANSOR’s One Micron Filtration (OMF) can be of great help. One Micron filtered coolant eliminates particulate build-up on the grinding wheels, which results in optimum wheel performance while extending its life. Dramatically improved surface finishes are also achieved, eliminating secondary polishing in most cases. The overall result is faster cycle times and improved product finishes
