Hangsterfers Laboratories, is another well-known name in the Metalworking Fluid Industry. Today METALWORKING MAGAZINE evaluates the utility of their website.

PAGE TEST: (2 (out of 3)) If you can get past the really ugly yellow-green color, there is beauty in the basic structure, and lack of unnecessary animation.  All products are listed on one page, where they are organized by formulation family, and have a general description, including some application information.  Details are not available.  At least there is no need to flip back and forth for comparing products from the same manufacturer.

CLICKS TEST: (-2) You can reach the products page in two clicks. First click on Metalworking Fluids, second on Coolant Concentrate and you will reach product list. They name it “Coolant Concentrate” a bit different than others.

CHART TEST: (0) Complete disappointment, No chart to products by recommended application.

CLASSIFICATION TEST:

Organization- (1 (out of 3)) There is a single level or organization going on.  Formulation families are first again, followed by general descriptions.  Application and Material are mentioned but they are very generic in most cases. Material recommendations far outnumber machining references.

Detail-  (1 (out of 3)) Very short description and no data, and no obvious links to Product Data Sheets or MSDS's.  Maybe we should add a test for LINKS.  They would get a zero for that one too.

Uniformity (1 out of 3)) It's a narration and it is not uniform.  It's not repetitive, which is good, but there is no uniformity and it's not very informative either.

In summary - It's easy to navigate and there isn't enough information when you get there.  At least you won't need to spend a lot of time on the site.
