Metalworking Fluid Selection: Precision Fluids
Precision Fluids, Inc., is a two decade old company manufacturing Metalworking Fluids from the Great State of Texas. Let us see can they pass our selection tests.
Cool blue and white combination makes the webpage look good. Animations and Sliders are in place. Good job done by web-designer. But only looks can’t impress us. What we are looking for is how easy it is to read your products.
PAGE TEST: (1 (out of 3)) Products are broadly categorized by formulation and you will have to move back and forth to compare them. The single point earned is for one line specific detail in front of every product and it is not deserved. “Neo-Synthetics” don’t be confused, it’s the known “Semi-Synthetic range” just a different terminology.
CLICK TEST: (-3) Three clicks to reach end of the tunnel, i.e., Product Data Sheet, and that's where the application recommendation is - what there is of one and it's not much: "for machining all ferrous and non-ferrous material." This of course, is like holding up the product and looking for a place to use it. This is upside down from reality.
CHART TEST: (0 (out of 3)). No Chart, no points. Even PDS is generic. You cannot compare anything easily.
LINK TEST: (1 (out of 3)) PDS links are available after three clicks. But no MSDS.
CLASSIFICATION TEST:
Organization- Average organization. They do mention applications and material but for that you need to reach PDS first and there is very little there.
Detail-. Below Average detail othroughout. Only one line description to give a vague idea what this product is made for. Best part is, unlike others there is very less repetition.
Uniformity- Good uniformity at the family level and PDS level.
Overall grade – They have products for specific application and material as well, it’s just about charting them on one page. Like most, its a website design from inside the suppliers world, not for the End User's world.
