The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency pulled back significant new use rules for three hydrocarbons which are used as "extreme pressure additives" in Metalworking Fluids. The three substances were among 53 chemicals subject to significant new use rules in August under the Toxic Substances Control Act, but will now have to go through a separate rulemaking because the EPA received a notice of intent to submit adverse comments, according to a Federal Register notice.
