Day School for Tribologists

One day in school, and the next day at Disney World.  How do you say no to that?  The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) has released the lineup of 12 one-day education courses for its 2014 Annual Meeting & Exhibition, including 2 that are directed to metalworking fluids. The event is May 18-22 at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, about 19 miles from Orlando. For the first time, STLE is allowing individuals to sign up for a course without registering for the full meeting. STLE is also is offering a free half-day course on nanotribology for all meeting registrants. The simplest and fastest way to register for the meeting is by logging on to www.stle.org. You can save $90 if you register by April 18.

On Sunday, May 18th, the METALWORKING FLUIDS 125 course will be presented. We highly recommend the MWF 125 course which is now titled HEALTH, SAFETY, AND AN INTRODUCTION TO GHS. Modules include: Industrial Hygiene, Toxicology of Metalworking Fluids, Mist, Health Effects of MWF Microbes, GHS Overview: What's Changed?, SDS Overview: Appendix D, Classification of Mixtures, and Label and SDS Pictograms: What Should My Customers Expect to See?

On Wednesday, May 21, the METALWORKING FLUIDS 130 course will be held. METAL TREATING, CLEANING & PROTECTING FLUIDS. Modules include: Metal Treating Fluid Types & Applications, Metal Treating Fluid Measurements & Controls, Metal Cleaning Fluid Chemistry, Metal Cleaning Fluid Applications, Metal Protecting Fluid Chemistry, Metal Protecting Fluid Types & Test Methods, and Metal Protecting Fluid Dry Films & Applications.

The room block at Disney's Contemporary Resort is sold out. STLE also has a room block at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and is in the process of booking additional rooms at other properties.
