Metalworking Fluid: Spring Tank Cleaning
If you're from the US, you know this guy. That's Procter & Gamble's Mr. Clean. He's an icon of cleanliness. You have to wonder if his appearance is somehow related to exposure to household cleaning products. Spring cleaning of metalworking fluid tanks has an interesting history of tradition in America. Back in the 1940's and into the early 1960's factories would shut down for a day, suck up the stinky machine tank fluid, and then drive away in a truck while spraying the fluid onto the dirt roads. It was considered a community service in that the oily water would keep the dust down on the dirt roads. This spring cleaning session is from CIMCOOL Fluid Technology, announcing the new CIMCOOL® Quick Start Trial Kit*. This kit includes much of what you will need to clean out a machine sump and prepare it for new fluid, providing a simple and easy switch. The kit includes machine cleaner, clean-out accessories, concentration CIMCHEK and few helpful documents as well. Click the cleaning man and fill in the form to get your kit. In our experience, there is just no substitute for a portable pressure washer for getting into the hard to reach nooks and crannies and sharp corners where biofilms thrive. These are very common design flaws of the older machine sumps. Add that to your shopping list.
For Spring Cleaning Month we bring back our favorite dirty tank picture. Since we have limited Slider space, we replaced the beautiful picture of Russia and our announcements of any exhibits there.
